Small Business Leading the Way

07/23/2013 | News |

Dear Friend:

We were in Winchester on Friday meeting with a group of business owners and I want to make sure you saw what Mark had to say about making Virginia more friendly to jobs and small business.

From the Winchester Star:

“You know that small business fuels Virginia’s economy,” he said. “Forty-eight percent of the workforce in Virginia works in small businesses. We are 13th in the country in small business start-ups, which is good, but not good...

We Need You!

07/18/2013 | News |

Dear Friend,

Thank you again for the hard work that you've done in supporting Mark in his positive campaign for Attorney General. We're seeing a wave of momentum, with a June fundraising total that more than doubled our opponent's. As Larry Sabato, the Director of the UVA Center for Politics, said, “[Obenshain] is clearly in the best position of the four lower-office candidates." We're off to a great start, but we still have a long way to go.

The Washington...

Mark Raises Nearly $500K in June, Doubles Herring!

07/15/2013 | News |

You did it! You helped us out raise Mark Herring 2-1! And then some.

Thanks to your generous support, Mark Obenshain raised $479,916 in June—over 2.3 times his opponent’s $206,360. And that’s not all: the Obenshain campaign now enjoys nearly four times as much cash on hand as Herring, who is spending money hand over foot trying to smear Mark and distract from our positive message for Virginia.

Our June fundraising total blows the previous record for the month...

Tucker’s Take: The American Dream

07/10/2013 | News |

Dear Friend:

Where on earth is this summer going? It’s hard to believe Independence Day has come and gone. It will be fall before we know it!

The Obenshain family spent the Fourth of July scattered about the Commonwealth, visiting every parade, barbeque, and festival we could find. Now I must tell you that my parents were awfully surprised that I participated in any parades at all! Growing up in theShenandoah Valley as the daughter of a politician meant walking...

Happy Independence Day!

07/04/2013 | News |

Dear Friend,

Yesterday in Tahrir Square, jubilant crowds proclaimed a new dawn of freedom—not yet two and a half years after a different group of demonstrators had stood in that same square, extolling Egypt’s new embrace of freedom.
As Americans—people steeped in the love of liberty—we steadfastly wish for the freedom of all people. But we also know that freedom is not easily obtained and still less easily retained.

And yet, 237 years after fifty-six...

No Slowing Down

06/29/2013 | News |

Dear Friend,

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought that things may slow down for a little while post-convention, but boy, was I wrong! Last week alone we visited Roanoke, Chesapeake, Arlington, Lynchburg, and many places in between. This week, and every week, will be just the same!

Last Friday, we sat down in the News Channel 8 studio in Arlington for an interview with Bruce DePuyt, where my dad continued to lay out his priorities of low taxes,...

War on Coal is Real

06/29/2013 | News |

Dear Friend,

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour the Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center in Wise County, a state-of-the-art facility that supports 450 local jobs and is among the cleanest coal-fired power stations in the world. Facilities like this one represent the future of coal in Virginia and across the country. And let’s be clear on this point: coal does—coal must—have a future if we’re serious about jobs and economic growth.

I’m proud that...
